You don't want to get that bundle deal because you don't need a phone and your don't watch tv really, so you don't need the cable. Also say you want to save as much money as you can, but you still want something that is quality, what would you do?
It should probably be known that most of your internet activity consists of e-mail, facebook, netflix, hulu, and tww.

do what i do
get a smartphone and tether all your internet through it
may not be a good idea for netflix and hulu but idk. it's slower than broadband, but much faster than dial-up. 8/23/2010 11:06:52 PM |

Haha oh yeah, you live in a house and wifi connection from neighbors on one side is too weak, and the neighbors on the other side are old and think wifi hotspots means that we are at a risk of earth quakes.
If you were in this situation, would you just get the internet through twc, or are there other options that are a little less on the cost?

If you watch netflix and hulu you're probably gonna want to get your own internet connection otherwise you're going to have to buy new computers when you break the shit out of them. 8/23/2010 11:49:54 PM |

Earthlink is TWC by another name and price. Check their service options, because I guarantee you they have a variety available at your address. Uverse is another option, but I don't know if that's what you want to spend (and you don't have to bundle any more). 8/23/2010 11:57:22 PM |

the title of this thread is really stupid. and so is the first post. why didn't you just ask "what are some of the best non-bundle internet deals?" or search the threads already made on this topic. seriously sawahash, i thought you were better than this. 8/24/2010 5:47:22 PM |

here's what I did: I got the "Limited Basic Cable" and the lowest broadband.
I pay less than $50/mo.
i dont want to pay for full cable because i rarely watch tv. but i do want the basic channels to come in and have a few options like Discovery Channel and TLC
it's a federally-mandated option, 30 channels or so (broadcast plus a couple good ones, plus a bunch of sucky ones), and forces the cable company to be offered at a minimal price (about $10-15 / mo.)
then get the lowest broadband internet available. for me (Comcast) it's 1.5 Mbps for $24.99 first 6 mos., then (i think) $39.99 afterwards.
so i pay about $37/mo. for 6 mos, then $52/mo after. basic channels to watch and reasonably fast internets.
i'd suggest you get your own cable modem, so you dont rent theirs for extra $5-10/mo.
