^lol it would be funny... I'd walk into the best buy out in lancaster, and then walk out about an hour later, and hill/mountian would have been completely burned to a crisp- never even got to see the fire half the time 9/7/2010 2:58:00 PM |

^^^ I lived in Lancaster for 3 years what a shithole.
How is the smoke in CO? Alaska regularly has massive fires in the summer month, which results in Fairbanks being blanketed by thick smoke. Its pretty shitty. 9/7/2010 7:56:03 PM |

Pretty impressive/thick, actually.
Estes Park was pretty much clear when I left ~130?pm. I crested a ridge at like 630ish and was like HOLY FUCK WHERED THE MOUNTAINS GO? Sunset was effectively ~1.5hrs early today. The fire has more than doubled since last night. Also, there is little, if any, containment. This thing started yesterday ~10am.

How far are you from the fires? You think they might have to evacuate you?
And does it taste like... burning? 9/7/2010 11:52:51 PM |

I don't know. I've heard 35 miles, and 15 miles, and looked at maps and decided I'm far enough away that I don't care about the distance.
Highly doubtful we'll have to evacuate, but the smoke is quite bothersome. I did eat dinner outside tonight, and it wasn't smoky. Then again, it wasn't grilled 9/7/2010 11:54:45 PM |
