^Yeah, that Air Force picture looks like something you would see on the NC State Centennial Campus. Oxford and Virginia do belong on the list though.

I can't comment on most of the colleges, but those pics didn't do a good job of showing some of them off. Especially that one of California at San Jose or whatever.

"Wow look how beautiful the sky is on this college!"

Army

Air Force

They both have mountains and trees, but Army has better looking buildings. Air Force looks like NCSU Centennial Campus, or Wake Tech.

...I'm pretty sure that's just some bullshit that people have told to freshmen for a few years now. But maybe not.

Though it is scheduled to be torn down or something eventually.

harrelson should stay, it's unique enough to be an icon, and I swear to god I'm going to organize a roller derby down it or just skate down it myself before I turn 30

UVA is pretty high on the list:

Quote :
"University of Virginia

Charlottesville, Va.

Thomas Jefferson said his proudest achievement was creating this campus in 1819. Jefferson believed that real learning could only happen in an "academical village" setting, and toward that end, he designed the campus around an imposing rotunda with a great lawn at its feet and 10 neo-classical pavilions (classrooms) lining the green. Professors' quarters were directly above the classrooms, so that discussions--and learning--could happen organically and freely. The Lawn is considered one of the great architectural achievements of the 19th century, symbolizing the harmony between professor and student and university and landscape. Today the university also features major architectural works by McKim, Mead & White, Michael Graves and Billie Tsien.

But West Point is one of those old campuses with cool looking buildings like this...

Air Force looks like your typical modern, tacky looking campus like this...

"UNC"

Their old buildings are cool looking like ours and their campus is better looking overall, but they do have new buildings that don't look good like us that are mixed in with the old ones.

so what that west point has old/old looking buildings. overall AFA's campus looks better.

old buildings aren't the end all for good looking campuses.

I always thought UNC's campus was very... bland. I don't know, it's pretty, but so much of the campus looks the same as the rest. Maybe consistency is a valuable trait in universities. I like the cityscape feel of State, where there's a variety of structures and the layout is again very urban--even if the whole damn thing is brick.

Yeh, but the Air Force Academy reminds me of the modern white painted buildings that are on the Wake Tech Community College campus.

Life Magizine actually listed West Point as 100 of the most beautiful places to see in the USA, along with Pebble Beach Links, and some of our national parks. Having taller mountains, doesn't make a campus better looking either.

Props to UVA for keeping the beautiful campus appearance while allowing aggressive growth. Its getting close to the best time to go when the leaves change color.

I've been to West Point and it's a fantastic looking campus, especially in autumn.

Boston College has a great view from parts of campus, too but campus itself isn't all that great.

Always felt the same way. State should begin to look a lot better with Hillsborough getting a big redesign, Lee/Sullivan/Harrelson/Talley and North Hall all due for major changes or demolition.
