My eye doctor recommended not using visine.

He gave me Optive instead: http://www.optivesolutions.com

Said something about Visine being too artificial and restricts blood vessels in the eye whereas Optive is closer to real tears and is less harsh.

Either

A) he's right.
or
B) he's wrong because neither product is better or worse for you.
or
C) he's wrong and is just trying to push this product for personal gain.

You're faced with the same dilemma I am. Choose wisely.

a couple years ago I worked at an optometrists office and doc used to tell people not to use it. If I remember she said something about how overtime it dries out even more?

Anyway, she recommended Systane. That stuff is amazing

Get real. No doctor I know of sells artificial tears. Or do you honestly believe food lion and walmart keep track of WHY you are buying a bottle of ATs and then sends a little something back to us. I suppose you get asked all the time which doctor recommended you buy this product. lol

The reason we try to get people out of visine or any "gets the red out" product is bc they contain vasoconstrictors. They will shrink the blood vessels on the conjunctiva and make the eyes look less red. This is fine for occasional use, however over time your body adapts. Thus requiring more and more product to keep the redness away, then when stopping you get a rebound vasodilation making the eyes more red then when you began.

Most people just need something to keep their eyes moist or to rinse them when irritated. They need the lubrication not the vasoconstriction. Redness or "tired" eyes are usually a sign of irritation which is usually caused from dryness or allergies. Try tears first.

Websurfer, i take it with a name like that you are on computers a lot. A couple things. You will tend have dry eyes bc studies have shown that when we read or are on a computer the blinks per minute falls to half of a normal rate. Also you might be getting an eye strain from the computer. This is after awhile on the computer you look away and everything is blurry. After about 3-10 mins your vision is back to normal, this is normal and the drops wont help with that, only the dryness.

Hope that helps.

It's definitely real. For example, I dont personally know any serial killers or murderers. Does that mean they don't exist? Does that mean you can differentiate them from normal people by meeting with them for a 1 hour visit? The option still remains open and the fine line of morals is the only measure standing between the two.

Please tell me HOW? How do we profit from recommending OTC drops? What system is in place to track what you buy from My rec?

yeah I use visine every day, my eyes will usually get red at some point in the day without them no matter what, it definitely gets the red out but it doesn't make my eyes feel any less dry, I'd like to find something that actually gets the red out and and makes my eyes feel better

Systane has a new drop. It wont "get the red out" like you are used to. However if you keep the eye lubricated it will become less inflamed/irritated which means it wont get as red. If your eyes are red try using it at least 4 times a day, and whenever they start feeling bad.
