every night my father's side of the family would have dry manhattans after dinner. I can close my eyes and picture my grandma's dining hall and smell the aroma. I remember being allowed little sips and thinking how cool it would be to be a grown up.

Booker's makes a fine manhattan. At 127 proof, it's still smother than the bourbon I made with 80 proof jack daniels for my second drink. It's a shame this stuff is so expensive, but it's worth it.

Grab a bottle of Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye (13yo) rye if you can find it. My favorite whiskey and for ~$70, not too expensive as fine whiskeys go.
