^3 If you have a normal menstrual cycle of 28 days then ovulation occurs around day 14ish, so pretty much yeah... There are some fancy schmancy things you can buy to tell you when you're ovulating, and in some cases women get serious with it and monitor their body temperature

There's gestational weeks, which counts from the date of your last menstrual cycle, and then there's fetal weeks, which is from the date of conception. Most doctors calculate in terms of gestational weeks, because you can typically remember when your last cycle was, but until an ultrasound is done, you have no idea when you conceived, although it's typically around two weeks after the last menstrual cycle. This isn't always the case, because not everyone has a 28-day cycle, and then there's always the off chance you became pregnant in a time when you were not the most fertile (happens a lot of birth control pills fail, which was what happened in my case.)
