Quote : | "The National Hockey League and SLG Entertainment LLC, led by Stan Lee, creator of Spider-Man, Iron Man and X-Men among other comics superheroes, announced Thursday their unprecedented partnership to form Guardian Media Entertainment LLC. This partnership creates the platform from which to launch Stan Lee's vision for his latest superhero franchise, The Guardian Project, which will encompass the creation of 30 Guardians (one to represent each NHL team) as a new series of superheroes, with a creative concept that organically and authentically incorporates various NHL elements but is not set in the world of hockey.
"I've always believed that every great plan starts with a great story," Lee said. "In the creation of Guardian Media Entertainment and its unique and unprecedented relationship with the NHL, I truly believe we have the perfect combination from which to launch 30 new superheroes and excite young fans around the globe."
Created and developed by Lee and Tony Chargin, Executive Vice President of Creative Affairs at Guardian Media Entertainment, and Jake Shapiro, each Guardian derives from its corresponding hockey team -- complete with special powers representative of each team and city. These 30 Guardians will be unveiled together in a special presentation during the 2011 NHL All-Star Game on Jan. 30 in Raleigh, N.C. " |

Quote : | "ATLANTA -- Atlanta Thrashers goalie Ondrej Pavelec collapsed to the ice in the early minutes of the season-opening game against the Washington Capitals.
There was a whistle at the opposite end of the ice when the 23-year-old Pavelec suddenly fell over backward with no one around. His teammates rushed to his aid and immediately called for doctors and a stretcher to be brought to the ice.
Medical personnel worked over him for about 10 minutes before he was wheeled off the ice. There was no immediate word on his condition or what caused him to collapse.
Pavelec collapsed just 2:25 into the game." |

^^ excellent news. free center ice preview until the 24th so i was watching the SE clash last night. he just dropped with no one around him. Caps announcers had no idea what to say. they went to break about 4 times in 15 minutes while he was just laying there. no movement.

so, looks like he got a concussion from the fall but what caused him to fall is obviously some kind of heart problem or something like that 10/9/2010 6:46:31 PM |

Punkass Crapitals.
Seeing Kovalchuk fight Mike Green was interesting though. After that it was just a giant melee. Personally, I like seeing the Devils struggle early in the season because they tend to stomp face out of the gate and then hit a slump later on. Colin White needs to beat our defense into line because right now they are terrible. You'd think we have the ghost of David Tanabe back there! Losing Paul Martin really hurt. 10/9/2010 9:49:17 PM |

I do respect the half-hearted manner in which he scored it. While it was obligatory for him to score the goal he at least wasn't an ass about it. Having 15 skaters the entire game ftl. . . 10/12/2010 3:27:14 PM |

Maybe actual fans will show up to the games if they keep it up. It's a definite suit and tie atmosphere inside of ACC.

^That'll make it harder. The only ones who can afford tickets are the suit and tie wearers of Toronto. Why do you think when we played them in the conference finals, all of them bought plane tickets, flew down and bought tickets no matter the price? It was still cheaper than the ACC on a standard night. 10/14/2010 8:16:50 AM |

I was recently playing a game of EA Sports NHL 11. I was down by one goal against my friend, I was on a 2 on 0 and was impeded by #16 Adam Burish, and was unable to acheive a scoring opportunity, I ask that Adam Burish publicly apologizes to me for he had cost me that game of NHL 11. Thank you for you cooperation during this crisis.

Oh lawd New Jersey. We shut out the Habs 3-0, a few nights later the coach benches Kovalchoke and we lose 6-1 to the Slugs after Moose got hung out to dry by the abysmal defense that I've been hollering about since opening night. Terrible terrible terrible. At least Zach got a goal. 10/23/2010 10:46:42 PM |
