Inside my garage, there is only one electrical outlet besides the ceiling outlet for the door opener. I want to add an additional outlet on the oposite wall. The garage is partially finished and I can see the back side of a outlet box that goes to the exterior of the garage. I want to keep that outlet exterior and tap into that wire and wire another outlet to face inside the garage.Whats the best way?

if there isn't much else on that circuit for the exterior outlet, you can tie into that line, run a fresh 14-2 or 12-2 line (depending on length and desired amp load) from where you tie in to wherever you want the new outlet location. Pretty simple to do really. You could also run the line from the other outlet to the new location.http://www.homedepot.com/Nonmetallic/Electrical-Electrical-Boxes-Conduit-Fittings-Boxes-Brackets/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xofZbohnZ1z115vzZ1z13gem/R-100404073/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 (only need 2 of these, roughly $0.45 each)+http://www.homedepot.com/Electrical-Wall-Plates-Accessories-Wall-Plates/h_d1/N-5yc1vZbp9jZ1z117j1Z64tuiZ1z11715/R-100356815/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 +http://www.homedepot.com/Electrical-Wire-Cable-Electrical-Wiring-NMM-Wire/h_d1/N-5yc1vZbm41Z64tuhZ1z113yu/R-202316377/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053+http://www.homedepot.com/Electrical-Outlets-Plugs-Outlets/h_d1/N-5yc1vZbp9iZ64tui/R-202066670/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053+http://www.homedepot.com/Electrical-Electrical-Tools-Accessories-Staples-Ties-Tubing/h_d1/N-5yc1vZbm9fZ64tui/R-100180822/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053That will get you an outlet right above that existing outlet plus enough wire to run to wherever you need to put the new outlet. You'll want to get a 1" or so drill bit to make the holes in the studs to run the wire but that's the only other thing.[Edited on October 8, 2010 at 8:38 PM. Reason : added]
