and they completely razed and re-did that community, yet even so I worked for raleigh parks and recreation and was there often. there is a real sense of community and love, especially when it comes to the children in that community. We took a group of youngsters from there to Kings Dominion (admittedly over a decade ago) and it was surreal to see the raw joy on their faces because a lot of them had never experienced something like that before. (yes i'm a white dude and this sounds totally self-absorbed but it really was an awesome trip for the kids.)
