Yeah really, but more importantly what happened to actually going to houses? Mom and dad were telling me that people were just going to churches to do this gay-ass "Trunk or Treat" where they go to a church parking lot and just grab candy from people's cars.
That sounds like it's setting a bad precedent, but hey what do I know?

our church did that trunk-or-treat thing when i was a kid so that's nothing new
but i cant remember if we participated in it ... i think we went with a group of friends and their parents would drive to different neighborhoods, but we would park and get out and walk the neighborhood 10/31/2010 7:31:17 PM |

I lived out in the country, so it was pretty necessary to drive kids to more populated areas of the streets, let them walk until they ran out of houses, then find another area.
So yea I did this shit all the time. If I had to walk I'd be pretty screwed, since once I was done with the 10 houses in my neighborhood it was like a mile to the next, and even more distance between others. 10/31/2010 8:02:47 PM |

My mom always drove me to the rich area, so I'd get good candy. 10/31/2010 8:03:24 PM |

^We tried doing that, since we lived on the coast. Problem with that was, we were on the sound side, so there were one or two rich neighborhoods but they were McMansions with enormous driveways, the houses were huge distances from each other, and it was gated community so hardly anyone was actually giving out candy.
Rich people. 10/31/2010 8:14:15 PM |

I never trick or treated in AK, due to the cold. I trick or treated the hell outta Cary in middle school with great success. Randomly tons of college age kids trick or treating here in Boston. 10/31/2010 10:57:28 PM |
