It bothers me how pansyfied this country has become.

i know people who have bettered themselves by moving away and starting anew.
sometimes small towns can hold ya down, especially if you have already set a reputation for yourself.

I'm not saying that you should stagnate and never change

but I am saying that it is good to remember the journey that brought you to your present state and the lessons you have learned along the way

for example, I never felt more like a North Carolinian than when I lived in NYC
grasping on to some kind of identity helped me to not get lost in the anonymity of the big city
