I'm here for two weeks training for a new job. Staying in Buckhead. What should I do?

Meeting up with some friends later in the week to take me out to a few places. Anywhere I can go on my own? Good park to run in? Coffee shops/cool restaurants that are walkable from the Buckhead Marriott?

I wouldn't go to the underground...I was there last August and called my dad to see if he knew of an area that I might find a good sports bar in to watch the NCSU/SC fb game. He hadn't been there since '81, but told me to head there (it's basically a historic underground mall) since it was the place to be when he was down there.

Fast forward, and I got stopped by a cop who told me not to walk down that way (it was getting close to dark) alone. I got the impression from wandering around that area a bit that downtown changes from nice and well-kept to 'get your ass beat alley' really fast.

I ended up at some shitty Hooters watching the game on a 13" old-style TV.

last night I got room service and forgot to throw the latch when I was putting the tray outside my room and locked myself out. Had to go downstairs with no shoes and get a new key. On the up side the breakfast buffet is really yummy.

I realized that the 3 guys behind me were getting ready to mug me and had the fortune of turning the corner and having a cop getting out of his car in front of me. So I went over to the cop to ask him how to get where I wanted to go and the 3 guys skidaddled as fast as they could. I'm the only one training currently. Next week they'll be more people in town I know so I'm just laying low this week. On top of that the only two people I know who live in Atlanta are out of town.
