of wife's 2010 Mercedes C300. Took it to Just Tire and they said they wouldn't patch it because they are afraid they would damage the suspension.

should I take it to the dealership?

What The Fuck!

lol, just take it somewhere else. It'll be like $10. Stealership will charge like 40.

yeah, if it's in the tread block and didn't tear up the steel belts, it's not a big deal. any shop other should be able to plug it for you, or you can get a plug kit from wal mart or a parts store and do it yourself.

That's true I have had a tire fixed there for free, but they do make you wait behind most paying customers I've also taken a tire there to get it fixed and they wouldn't do it b/c of irregular wear on the tread (a problem I had already fixed, but they didn't care)..

or you can buy a plug kit at any auto store for $5 and fix it yourself.

after having sold tires there for a few years the first part of your statment is incorrect. it has nothing to do with paying customers or freebees.
the second part is somewhat true. What idiot is patch a tire with 2/32nds on one side and 8 on the other.
chances are being a 2010, its fine.

i'd never drive a tire like that for the looks

and 18k would be glorious. I'm on my 3rd or 4th (?) set of rears and 2nd or 3rd set of fronts on my S2000, and I've owned it for 12k miles, tops.

Duke, you have a special situation. Something's not right on your S2000's suspension if they wear out that fast. Nobody on S2KI.com has wear issues anywhere as serious

well, when I say 3rd/4th and 2nd/3rd, I'm counting the tires that were on it when I bought it (at maybe half-tread or a little less), and the set that's on there now (with at least half-tread)

and one of those sets of rears got eaten up REALLY quickly due to driving it for 2 weeks with an alignment issue (including a trip to GA and back)

but still, I do wear them out extremely quickly

my Advans and Azenis were bald by about 10k miles on the Evo. Hell, I used to kill BFG KDWs in 10k or so (rears...fronts lived a little longer) on my supercharged S2k.

That reminds me of when I had taken my 944 to Midas to get them to weld a crack in the y-pipe. All I wanted them to do is weld a crack and they looked at me and said they don't work on Porsches. I asked how the hell welding a metal exhaust on a 22 year old porsche was any different from welding on any other car, be it a Honda or Chevy. They just looked at me and said, "We don't touch Porsches. Sorry" I left and ended up getting some guys at Meineke to do it for free... Morons.
