IMAP?

The solution is not intuitive. You can use the inherent Gmail App (not the regular Email app) on your Droid or any Android phone for that matter.

All you have to do is change your UnityId password. Not obvious I know, but I guess it resets something. And yes, you'll have to enable IMAP in your GMail settings.

So, after you change your password, wait about an hour. Then get on your phatty boom batty Android device and make a Gmail Account. Use the "Already have an account" option (paraphrased). Use your unityid@ncsu.edu as the sign-in name (e.g. jgdoe@ncsu.edu) and your new password as...the password. Should have no problems and you'll get full gmail functionality from your Droid, N1, myTouch, Hero or whatever sweet ass phone Android is on.

This should fix it. It did for me. Thank God State abandoned that ****ty squirrelmail service. "

"squirrelmail" was just the web interface to the IMAP backend... it "syncs" with the droid just fine too. It's suckiness was mostly because the quotas were teeny-tiny. Other than that, it was pretty solid.

okay i have another questions...i can't get the god damned calendar to work. i've searched endlessly online and haven't fixed it. Apparently I have to sync it with my gmail account in order to use it, but every time I click on "Add a Calendar Account," it takes me to "My Accounts," and I hit a dead end. No option to select either of my email addresses.

I'd like to sync it with my NCSU gmail, but that might not be possible since it's not "traditional" gmail. At this point I really don't care, I just want to sync it with SOMETHING so I can use the damn thing. I'll call tech support tomorrow if I can't figure it out tonight, but if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong I'd be ecstatic for some info

all of my stuff on my DX works great with my google apps account (NCSU gmail). Except for google checkout... since that doesn't support google apps
