Anyone know where I can find one? New or used...

Mower is near Greensboro, NC but willing to drive anywhere around to get one. JD wanted $800 to fix it. Ended up buying a new 54" Zero Turn mower, but want to fix this as a backup.

I sold a similar sized Husky with a burned up hydrostatic transaxle for $300 earlier this year and was surprised at how many people wanted the thing. Probably could have gotten more. If you already have a new mower I'd just do that rather than spending money on this one.

Keeping this as a 2nd mower would really come in handy as we'd use it to mow the yards at some of our stores.

Ahh...That makes sense. I was thinking from a homeowner standpoint. If that's the case I'd probably use one for the house and leave one strapped on the trailer for use around your other properties.

I don't know if that's a traditional transmission or a hydrostatic drive, but you might want to check eBay. Used transaxles went for next to nothing (seriously, like $50) from what I saw, but many of them had no guarantee. There were a few resellers selling new ones there for a couple hundred dollars less than most shops too.

You'll want to look up the transmission part number and search by that rather than the mower model. It's likely that the transmission in that unit is used in dozens of different mowers from several different manufacturers. Just find an online reseller that lets you search for parts by make/model and their parts search should tell you the correct manufacturer/part number.
