I had to turn my heat on a while back. For one, I don't want these hardwoods to experience TOO much expansion/contraction. For two, this house gets remarkably chilly around the edges, but it's still pretty energy efficient for a house from the 70s. For three, holy shit it is nearly impossible to get out of bed to go to work when it's <65° in my room.

I am surprised some idiot hasn't piped up yet saying they do something asinine like turn on the heat, open the windows and then sleep under a comforter. Wastefulness to that degree makes no sense to me.

During the summer I didn't turn on the air until it was 94 inside and I needed to do my p90x workout. Even then I just cooled it down to 82. Haha.

To be fair, when I had someone over I would adjust to their comfort level. I just didn't mind parading around in a pair of shorts all summer with the windows/patio door open.

I was usually walking around singing "Tshirt and Panties"

Friends knew to bring blankets if they were gonna crash with me after going out!

I spent a LOT of time growing up at my aunt and uncle's home and they had those window air conditioning units that were always on and always cranked up. When you spend many a night sleeping on the floor in a freezing house you develop an aversion to ever have to endure that again. I say all of this as I plan on spending six months straight sleeping out side and a whole slew of nights prior to that in preparation. Ambient cold is one thing but I just can not abide having chilly air blowing on me constantly. Besides, girls don't like cold hands going up their shirt.

Turned it on in my car Sunday morning on the way to the beach. Have yet to turn it on in the house. Broke out the pajamas and slippers last night though.

didn't turn the heat on, but definitely threw the down comforter on the bed last night (and possibly wrapped my dog in a fleece blanket before bedtime )
