Nah I think we had to win at least one while ranked in Rivers' senior season.

Then in basketball we had Hodge.

I'm thinking maybe Costner's freshman year perhaps, whenever that was.

Well we started that year 0-2 I think (losing to wake and Ohio State) although we might have beat a D-1AA team before that? I don't think we were ranked after that.

And I think we were ranked to start Hickson's freshman year and won a game or two before losing to ECU.

Yeah I think you are right about Hickson's freshman season

And now that I think about it I don't think we were ranked during costner's freshman year, since we sucked most of the year with a few flashes of brilliance (beating carolina, almost winning ACCCG)

I'm pretty sure we weren't ever ranked Costner's freshman year. We were looking good in that game against Michigan when Atsur went down, and we were like 5-0 or 6-0 but after that we were terribad till he came back.

you're right in that we were ranked to start that season. you're wrong in that we lost to new orleans in the second game of the season... well before that humiliation at ecu.
