Hey guys,

If this is the wrong place to put this, please let me know, or just move it.

I've never sold tickets before in NC, so I have no idea of the laws, rules/whatever. However, I won 6x lower level ticket packages to the NHL All Star Weekend Events. This includes 6x tickets to the Saturday Skills Competition, 6x tickets to the Sunday All Star Game, and parking passes.

I am sure we will use a few of these tickets, but for the extra tickets, what sort of regulations are in place for selling them? Are there limitations on how much they can be sold for? Also, can anyone recommend any good places to try and sell them outside of Ebay and Craigslist?

Thanks,

How would going through stubhub bypass the resell value limit? If you can indeed do this, that would be great, but want to make sure we are doing it on the up and up.

I have no idea yet -- I won't actually get the tickets in hand until the first week of December.

Anyone who gets caught illegally selling tickets is just being a huge dumbass about the whole situation.

There are millions of ways to get what you can for them like craigslist, ebay, scalping that the fact of whether its legal or not shouldn't be an issue.

I'm pretty sure they changed this a couple years ago

I know I can list my $60/piece Panthers tickets for up to $100k each on NFL.com/ticketexchange, although that might have something to do with out-of-state sales, I dunno

online stuff is a whole different ball game. that's how stubhub gets away with it... they go by California rules because thats where they are based out of.

ok this is what i was thinking of

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1042570/north_carolina_legalizes_ticket_scalping.html

they made scalping legal for a year, but you were supposed to pay taxes on it...guess it ran out

Looks like they extended it out indefinitely according to:

Thanks for the original link Tree -- finally was able to get a coherent result from google.

Thanks -- still can't believe it happened From what I have seen online, there will likely be no general admission tickets sold -- everything is through sponsors, partners, etc -- in the very unlikely event all of the tickets are not claimed by sponsors/etc, they have a wait list of people who signed up who want to buy tickets -- they will get the chance only if all of the tickets are not claimed.

I'm assuming face value on these is $$Texas since they are lower level seats, I have absolutely no idea what people will be willing to pay for them. Hopefully the end result is that I end up with some friends at the game and effectively get paid to be there from selling the extras.

Yeah, I got mine via my season ticket account, and the single lower level seat I got for the AS game was around $165 I think?

Lower level for the skills competition were around $65 or something like that.

They do, back wehn the panthers were good tickets would sell at 3x face value. Ticketmaster's TicketExhange will not even issue the real tickets as an attempt to hide this fact. They either require you to print out the ticket or they give you an edited ticket from will call that stamps the price you paid instead of face value.

StubHub will still mail originals.
