Agreed -- which one specifically? It is PCI, AGP, PCIe, etc?

Thanks

You realize there is a rebate that brings the price down to $14.99, right?

^. people like you are annoying.

you try to comment on posters not observing the obvious blah bloah.

My turn:

"You realize I said asking $20". Notice I didn't say anything about firm. Usually when someone says "asking $XX" it means an offer is acceptable to throw out.

^, people like you are annoying.

You take anyone who points out something that could hurt the sale value of your item and you trash them because they are looking out for the purchaser instead of your own wallet.

My turn:

"You realize I never said that your price was unacceptable, as it is perfectly plausible that someone would rather pay 20 bucks and not have to deal with a rebate and still save 10 bucks off the price of the video card. Instead, I was just pointing it out as it was not particularly obvious that there was a 15 dollar rebate (in the form of a prepaid card), with the price after rebate was listed as extraneous information outside of the obvious pricing details."

God you people get butt-hurt too easily in this section. "SOMEONE POINTS OUT THAT THEY CAN GET THE SAME EXACT PRODUCT, NEW AT A LOWER PRICE THAN WHAT I WAS ASKING FOR IT, HOW DARE THEY!" The only reason why anyone would get angry at what I said is if they were secretly hoping that the person who puts in the offer to buy the video card wouldn't notice that there is a rebate.

^^ Alright. I'm not going to derail OP's thread any further. But I will say this, I really can't hate on Jrb599, as 20 bucks is still pretty reasonable, even if you take in consideration the rebate, not to mention the rebate expires on the 25th. Hell, I hate dealing with rebates. Others may feel the same way, others may not. I don't know. It was worth pointing out that there is a rebate that brings the price below what the OP is asking for, simply because the rebate isn't advertised very well on Newegg's product page. Hell, I almost missed the rebate.

But Ansonian, grow the fuck up and go bitch in your own little thread that you made about me. You're still pissed because I basically gave anyone who wanted to negotiate a price with you fodder to to basically try to buy it for about 1/3 of what you were asking for your monitor. Did you even know how much 19" monitors were going for before I told you? You didn't seem to know. Would you even have considered letting it go for 50, 60 or 70 bucks? Maybe you would have, but I tend to doubt it if you actually thought new 19" monitors went for 200 bucks, or if you thought an HP branded monitor was somehow more special over an Acer/ASUS/Viewsonic/ect branded monitor that would warrant a higher price.

And if you did know that you could get 19" monitors for less than 100 bucks and you put an asking price of 150 bucks up, then you deserved to be called the fuck out on the price, because the only reason why you would ask for 150 bucks when you know someone can get a better or equal monitor at a much lower price is if you're trying to take advantage of someone who doesn't know better. I hate seeing assholes try to rip unsuspecting people off. I'm not accusing you of doing it, but it is certainly a possibility that explains why you're mad and why you're still on a mission to make an ass out of yourself.

Ansonian, get over it. Move on. Getting mad at someone because he told other people that you can get the same product at a significant savings over what is being asked is childish.

Jrb599, sorry for derailing your thread. I honestly don't think you were trying to be an asshole with your asking price, and like I said, I think it is still pretty reasonable, even considering the rebate. I know my first comment came off a bit harsh. I didn't intend for it to come off that way. But as far as finding people who point out cheaper or "better" deals than a person's asking price "annoying," well, you're just going to have to get over it. Like I said previously, I hate it when people get ripped off, especially with electronics, because it is so easy to do and it is very common. I honestly don't think you were trying to rip anyone off, I only pointed out the rebate because it was not particularly obvious. I don't know if Newegg has changed their layout recently, but rebates used to be really obvious, to the point that Newegg would deduct the rebate from the cost of the product and give you the "actual" cost. And while they do show it, they seemed to have put it off as "note."

Honestly,

I don't really care how this thread goes. I troll all the time in Classifieds. It's fun, it's the internet, I slept well last night.

I don't care if people point out a good deal - knock yourself out. It's fine, I would do the same. It's just how people present themselves. It's one thing to come off making the OP sound like a scamming idiot; it's another to come out and just simply state there is no incentive to buy at that persons price.

I will say one more thing - from the time I posted the wrong link to the time I posted the right link (~15hours) they did adjust the price from the $35 I paid to the $30 it is now.

Anyways It's still for sale and I think merbig made a good point. $10 gets it.

[Edited on November 24, 2010 at 7:02 AM. Reason : Glad you pointed out the rebate - I need to get on that]

^and the rebate was only $10 at the time.

And let me clarify about the link and the price changing in 15 hours - I'm not saying therefore it is worth $20. I'm saying I never reread the link when I posted it correctly because I didn't think the price changed

That's what it sold for yesterday.

Don't know if that was a serious bid or not.
