I know this is probably wont work but if anyone has an acrylic fish tank, or know where I can get one for cheap, let me know. Im looking for any tank between 30 and 60 gallons but would prefer deeper tank (18-24" front to back).

much lighter and I can drill it easily for an overflow and multiple returns. Plan to set up a saltwater tank.
Im not opposed to glass but then I would need someone else to drill it.
Do you work at a fish shop?

^ you'll regret acrylic, scratches are only a matter of time. i'd probably just go with a standard 40B, although the bottoms are tempered you could drill the back and run your plumbing that way.
do you want acrylic because you are planning a closed loop? or are you just wanting to tee your return into two?
i may have something laying around as well, i'll have to check. 11/27/2010 9:31:37 AM |

oh ok thanks for the information. I was told acrylic is the easiest to work with regarding overflows and returns. Im definitely open to glass if I can get it drilled. Can I use any 40B tank and get it drilled or am I looking out for a certain type of glass?
Let me know what you guys have. Thanks!
I dont think I need a closed loop for such a small tank do I? I figure one overflow and one return pipe split into two as it enters the tank.
