It's for my Snap-On/Modis EEMS300 Diagnostic Scanner.

Battery P/N: EAA0273B05A

Anyone know where I can find one online? Snap-On dude told me it'd be almost $160 for it....

I found one on ebay, but the seller doesnt know what kind of condition it's in...

I paid like $6,000 for this years ago. It's still worth about $3-4k most places. Definitely worth just replacing the battery haha.

You can try bringing it to Batteries Plus (there's one on Atlantic Ave in Raleigh) to see if they can order you something. Otherwise just spend the $160. If the scanner is really worth thousands that's not much money in comparison.

Just did some Googling. This scanner works with a lot of the OBD 1 protocols so you don't have to jumper some wire to check codes. That's becoming a more and more useless feature now that OBD 1 cars are really dying now.

We bought this thing in 2003, so I doubt they'd replace the battery for free...especially since the snap-on driver said it'd be $160.

This does so much more than just count codes, haha. We use this daily in our store. It's definitely worth $160 for a new battery, but just seeing if I can find it cheaper.

Thanks for the suggestions.

yeah I'm curious as well. my $100 Actron CP-9180 (same one that all the Advance Autos use when you ask them to scan your car) can read OBD II readiness and log sensor data, just not manufacturer-specific sensor data. For example last night I was working on '99 Cobra and comparing the stuff I could read on my Actron scanner to what a Diablo Predator could read. A Predator is just a handheld thing that swaps maps and reads data. The Predator could read a lot more Ford specific data like specific data from the crank angle sensor (PIP signal). On my universal scanner though I could still read the MAF signal, coolant temperature, O2 sensor voltage, etc.

Believe me, this thing does a hell of a lot more than some stupid $100 Actron scanner does. If I was gonna get back into turning wrenches fulltime I'd much rather have this.

The OBDI capability doesn't have much to do with my decision either.
