cross post idea from TSB

Quote :
"in 6th grade i had this wicked old teacher who was pretty much clueless, so me and about 5 other guys would constantly crawl around the floor and shoot paper darts at each other with rubber bands. if you shoot a really tightly folded one at the blackboard, it would make a very satisfying thump

ah, those were the days. of course, now if i found out my kid were pulling such shenanigans, there would be some serious whoopins in store
"

that was the only time i ever got suspended. i used to get sent out in the hall a lot in middle school, and you hoped Mr. McNeill wouldn't be walking the halls that day cus damn nature you scary. in high school i most straightened up and flew right, though i remember frequently getting in trouble in 9th grade biology class for goofing off with the eventual valedictorian. he was a quiet, kinda awkward kid, but i could always get him cracking up

Only time I ever got in trouble was in 7th grade. Me and few other guys had "stolen" (not really...we were just messing around) this other kids lunch (he didn't care...we were all friends). This was before class started so the teacher was in the hall and the door was open. The asst principal just happened to walk by the room when we were doing this. She notices what was going on and calls all of us out in the hall. Threatens to suspend us from school for 10 days...but lowers that to 1 in school detention (lasts the extent of 1 class period). It still pisses me off causes it got blown way out of proportion.

That's basically the extent of any trouble I got into in school. In high school I screwed around lot, but I knew what I could get away with and never pushed the envelope too much.

In 12th grade i put a foil gum wrapper into an electrical socket which resulted in a loud popping noise and a small flare and smoke emission. After class was over, my teacher called up 8 of the dubious characters in class to his desk (myself included). Knowing they would quickly turn me in i decided to step up and claim the fault.

He led me down the hallway after class to the disciplinary room where I was interrogated and chewed out CIA style by 3 administrators who forced me to call my mom and tell her what I did (she didn't give a shit). Following this, I received a whole 2 days of lunch detention.

I was really hoping for an ISS because I had never gotten one before, oh well.

I talked a lot in elementary school and that got me in trouble. One time I remember having to go the principal's office because we were joking around about Nutty Buddies the ice cream and asking who was your Nutty Buddy.

My Dad was a teacher at my Middle School so I couldn't get into too much trouble. I did get sent to the principal's office for reading dirty lyrics from the song Love is Blind by Eve. I think I got sent to ISS for that.

High School I got sent to the Principal's office for saying I was going to beat the shit out of this girl that was fucking my boyfriend. Conveniently, we had 4th period together and I came into class cursing and ranting about how I wanted to beat her face in. Her friend went and told her so she was too scared to come to class. She was busted for skipping and confessed. I played nice and was talking to her like we were friends in the Principals office, but as soon as we left I told her I'd be her worst nightmare if I heard rumors of her fucking my boyfriend again.

I was suspended three times:

1- 6th grade - cut all the pics out of my dead dad's playboys and sold them to kids at school. Nearly every locker had pics up before getting busted. I had a little more than 500 dollars in my pocket when I went to the principal's office.

2- 8th grade. One of my teachers that I hated allowed us to have paper ball fights on days before a long break. I wrapped a D battery in a piece of paper and hit her in the head with it.

3- 10th grade. Busted drinking beer out of a hardees cup on campus.

I don't think I was a troublemaker, but I was troubled and therefore got into a lot of trouble. I feel that most of the trouble I got into was a reaction rather than an action. The difference being that I didn't just sit there and think of bad things to do, but I had difficulty keeping a cool head when I was angry. For example, I remember one kid who kept fucking with me for two or three weeks. One day when he was sitting in the desk behind me I caught him sticking a piece of chewed up bubblegum in my bookbag. I closed the book on my desk, stood up, and smacked him as hard as I could across the side of the face with it. I still think that some people deserve to get smacked, but I'd like to think I've become more thoughtful with my own actions as I've gotten older.

It was foolish of me to let things get to me and drag me down, but I didn't learn that lesson until much later in life. I also had a bad tendency of doubling down and trying to cover up crimes or forging signatures to try to keep it all under wraps which just made situations worse when I eventually got caught.

I think I quit being social because of school.

Mom said when I was in first grade the teacher called her and told her she was going to have to move me to another seat in class due to my excessive talking. I came home really excited because the teacher moved me to a new seat and I get to talk to new people that I hadn't been able to talk to before.

Y'all realize that most many of the teachers you had were basically just power tripping social rejects right? I think careers such as those of teachers, TSA employees, or prison guards just attract dysfunctional people who want to assert their authority on those who aren't in a position to do anything about it. Makes me very grateful for the good teachers I had back in the day, but also very weary of the school system in general.

Take anything a teacher said to you that has had a negative effect on your self image and shove that shit down the sewer.

^^ Yeah...One of my housemates took a teaching job and moved out this year. I think he'll do a good job and it really made me think back and wonder which of my teachers he reminds me of. It's probably good that society has moved past the point where women thought they had to choose between being a housewife, a nurse, or a teacher. I have a feeling that led to a lot of shitty nurses and teachers who just took the job because they didn't think they had any other career choices.

Got in trouble twice. First time was 9th grade when a geometry substitute gave me detention for no reason. Actual teacher came back the next day and was like, "you? Detention? That doesn't make any sense." So he let me out of it.

2nd time was 11th grade when some of my chemistry classmates put a Robin (of Batman and Robin) action figure into a beaker of water and left the hot plate on. I told them to turn it off but they wouldn't so I said it's not my problem and bounced. Well wouldn't you know we had a pep rally that day so the room was unoccupied with that burning for like 2 hours. Next day I get to school and 4 of us were called into the principal's office and threatened with a 1 year suspension. THANK GOD all of us were top 10 in our class so he didn't want to suspend us. I swear it we were any of the usual suspects we would've been gone in a heartbeat. My mom was super pissed!

Not really. During my junior year I used to sneak off campus for lunch all the time, which was a privilege only for seniors. One day I alone out of my group got called out and "interrogated" by this bitch of an assistant principal who actually intimidated most people. She wanted the names of the other people I had left with, and I refused. She threatened to give me their sentences (20 days of ISS for lunch each) on top of my own, and I played dumb. I honest to God said, "I think one of their names started with a consonant, like 'b' or 'w.'" She got pissed and I got the full sixty days assigned to me.

I admit this isn't exactly troublemaking, but -- and I swear I'm not making this up -- total strangers came up to me and asked if I was the guy who had gotten the vice principal so pissed off, and when I said yes, they did things like offer to shake my hand. It gave the impression that I was bad-ass, which is not accurate.

Oh -- and in like second grade I used the little "postal service" our elementary school had to threaten the postal service itself with some sort of vague attack because of its slow deliveries, and also to try to lure my first-grade pen-pal into an insurance scam. Basically I had just figured out what "insurance" was and thought this was a neat way to steal from dumb kids. I told him to send me a quarter a day and I would send him an exorbitant sum if he ever lost any of his major school supplies or lunch money or anything. He stopped responding after that but I thought it was pretty evil.

The threat thing got me called in and interrogated, but I had foreseen the possibility and used a fake name and written in my very best cursive, which I was known to be terrible at. Then when asked to write a phrase I used cursive even worse than normal and they figured it couldn't be me.

I almost forgot. I had a Spanish teacher who HATED me. He was from Maine and he was giving us his background on the first day of class. Well, me, being a smart ass, asked him if he was close to the Canadian border. With me being well versed in Geography, I knew Quebec was to the Eastern side of the US. He said he was, and I asked if he knew French. He said he did. So I told him, point blank, that he was French. He said that he was not. And I told him that he knew French and he was close enough to Quebec to be considered a Canadian. Therefore, he was French.

From that point on, he hated me.

As luck would have it, I was placed next to a cute girl who I was flirtatious with. Anytime I would talk to her, he would mark me up on the board, according to his 1 warning then after school detention with him policy. So I could be helping her with Spanish, or just talking to her, and BAM. A warning. I could ask a question to a classmate, and BAM, detention. NOBODY else was singled out like this. A few people would get a mark up on the board, but only because they just continued to talk and talk and talk about stupid shit (I'm not saying I didn't do this, but after the first mark, I stopped that shit). He was fine with ANYONE else talking to people about a Spanish assignment or asking their neighbor for a brief clarification. But not me.

We got to know each other real well.

And then there was this time in Chemistry class. The teacher was a fucking idiot. I sat in the back with this other guy, and we would just make fun of her ALL class long. She would consistently get math wrong and couldn't add two numbers in her head. Well anyway, one day, she thought I wasn't paying attention because I wasn't writing anything. So she asked me for the answer to a question, to which I said "one-forth." She then said, "I'm sorry, I think you did something wrong, I got point two five." The other guy and myself laughed loudly for the next 5 minutes. I tried to control myself, but we just couldn't. I put my head down and just laughed. I had tears rolling down my face, and I looked up once, and she was just staring at us, not knowing what was going on.

The sad thing about that, nobody else noticed. Either because they weren't paying attention, or because they're as dumb as her.

I was a total goody two-shoes.

I got called to the assistant principal's office ONCE in 11th grade because they thought I skipped detention (that I never actually had). So I walk in and one of the usual suspects looks at me and says (in a very sourthern accent), "Linda... now what in the hellllllllllllllllllllllllllll are you doing in here?" Then I go into the assistant principal's office and he basically tells me that whatever it was, there's no way I did it. Then he sent me back to class.

then i got accused of stealing (which i didnt do)

after i got punished for it, i didnt give a shit anymore

- pulled the safety shower in the lab with two girls under it (on picture day)
- i managed to trip the breakers for an entire wing of the building
- dumped a cooler of gatorade on the wrestling coach
- caught the woods behind the school on fire
- drove the shop class's golf cart down the hallway during break
- made the basketball team starters fail a test the day of a big game (they couldnt play)

I did a lot more than I got caught for. I did have a two week string in ISS. I honestly can't even remember what I did to get the first week, then the day I got back I was fucking with a girl in front of me in class (she didn't care), but the racist teacher had it out for me and gave me another week. I got sporadic detention. I once (accidentally) hit my AP Stats teacher with a rubber band and I tied a girls shoe strings to her chair so when the bell rang she got up and face planted (thank god it was in a trailer with carpet).

But for the most part I could do whatever I wanted to in school. If you starred in a couple sports and made good grades, you got away with a lot. I pulled a lot of big pranks my junior/senior years that if I had gotten caught, would not have been pretty.

I had a terrible habit of drumming on shit with pencils. Half the time i didn't realize I was doing it. The teacher told me once that if I did it again, I would get after school suspension. Thirty minutes later, she called me out and I didn't even realize I had been doing it. Only time I actually got in trouble in school.

i forgot about the day i had a case of shotgun shells in the back of my blazer and they decided to get the school deputy and some other guy from the sheriff's dept and do visual checks around the parking lot. they called me out of class to my vehicle. luckily the shotgun wasn't in there. they searched all through the vehicle and also found a pocket knife. all they did was confiscate it and my mom had to go pick it up from the principal. he was a pretty chill dude.

I was everything. A troublemaker, an excessive talker, a teacher's pet.

I had a stick eyeball and gave it to a troublemaker friend who threw it at the wall and it stuck FOREVER. We kept laughing during class because it would suddenly roll a centimeter then stop. It was funny because the teacher couldn't see it due to the flag being in the line of view. I got yelled at when it finally dropped lol.

I got two 5 o'clocks for another incident as well. I was all OMGMYBFFJILL?
