sounds pretty genius
the dude has already made over $1400 for basically just starting a website and sending out pictures that probably take him no more than 30 seconds to draw] 11/30/2010 3:45:24 PM |

Isn't this sort of how http://www.explodingdog.com works?

Could be wrong, but I've been told that the actually participating company on groupon and twongo gets nothing from the sale of the "coupon". Its supposed to be an alternate form of advertising.
If so, that's a lot of shit to draw for free.11/30/2010 4:01:50 PM |

Wrrrrrrrrrrrroooooong.
the dude groupon.com has already made over $1400
The cost of advertising for this dude is:
30 seconds x 470 pictures = 235 minutes = 3.91 hours. Time it takes to think of 470 pictures = 30 seconds times 470 pictures = 3.91 hours. Time it takes to envelope, write address on = 1 minute x 470 pictures = 7.83 hours. Total: 15.65 hours
Cost of stamps: $42 cent x 470 = $206.70 Cost of 470 pieces of paper = $9.29 Cost of 470 envelopes = $8.29 Total: $224.28
Therefore this guy is in the hole ~$224.28 and (at max efficiency) 15.65 hours of his time.
But, on the other hand, this is a small price to get nationally recognized.11/30/2010 4:25:18 PM |

($700-$225)/16 hrs = $29.69/hr
Not bad for some doodles.
