6 hours? shit id ride into town and go do some stuff. dulles is like 20 minutes from georgetown and a little more for downtown DC. plenty of things you could do before having to only go through security on your way in.

ive definitely left the airport during a long delay before. go out and do something fun don't stay there for 6 hours thats crazy

I think Dulles has the 4* restaurant in the top of the terminal - up in the area with the cool roof.

Yeah get out and do something. That's what I did last time I flew through SFO. Had a 12 hour layover. Used it to do some sightseeing and grab dinner with my friend that lives out there.

Depends on the airport. I was able to pay some dude a couple bucks to watch my stuff at the airport. Probably paid too much but I wasn't stuck lugging around all my crap.
