Directed by Christopher Nolan and starring an aging Edward Norton as Julian Assange, who will win an oscar for the role; It will be the highest grossing movie of the decade.

The statutory comment is garbage. You act like sex with a 14 year old is an atrocity, but the same charge would be imposed in California for sex with a 17 year old. The majority of this country and the rest of the civilized world believe this is perfectly fine, but not in California. You'd probably refer to sex with a 17 year old as the jaywalking equivalent as well.


I hope Assange gets sentenced harshly for this, even though the charges are trumped up. If he wants to publish documents to show how ruthless the US can be, then we should show him firsthand what we are really capable of. Our truly criminal undertakings aren't written down.

I'm not claiming he shouldn't be tried for the alleged crimes committed in Sweden. It's their law and visitors to their country should be expected to follow it.

My point is that boiling it down to "Julian Assange arrested for RAPE!" when speaking to an American audience is done for one reason alone: to further vilify this man in an attempt to discredit the information on his website in the eyes of the kind of people that are susceptible to that tactic - the uneducated or unintelligent among us.
