I don't know what it is, I've got a friend that used it and said it was pretty sweet. The buses were nice, and even had wi-fi

besides being no service there must either be a government support thing or it's a terrible business model

it might just be a blip or low cost at the beginning to drum up a customer base

^ they make you sit next to a fat guy who spits when he talks, and keeps trying to spark a conversation about the glory of Ryan Seacrest.

You get a cheap ticket
The inmates get a little bit of socialization

it's a win-win, really.

on megabus, there really is no catch, i've rode with my now wife from St Louis to Kansas City. Other than spending 5 hours on a bus, it was a sweet deal. Cheaper than flying, easier and cheaper than driving, and we were meeting people with cars when we got there, so it was like a triple win situation

I used Megabus in the UK and didn't realize they were in the US now. They were just as dirt cheap over there, too.

megabus should merge with bangbus. Now THAT would make a 5 hour bus ride worth it!

Here to DC = $5 one way
DC to NYC = $20 one way

total = $50

prices are directly related to how many seats are available on the bus. the more available, the cheaper it is.

So if you plan far enough out (say you want to do this the last weekend in january) you can get here to DC roundtrip for $2 and DC to NYC roundtrip for $16.

The magic of these buses is that you plan really far in advance to get the killer deal.

Hell, all you really need to do is be able to go in the middle of the week. That'll get you a $1 fare to DC three days from now.

I just planned a roundtrip visit to New York City in January for $11 freakin dollars! It's a 9hr ride, but they have free WiFi. This is too cool........
