at first, no

then someone told me they were bad luck, and i thought it was stupid, and i kept using my white lighter

then it came time for a new one...and i couldn't shake the thought

i didn't cop a white lighter

i continued to avoid them, thus giving validity to the superstition unwillingly forced upon me

i publicly denounced them for a time

then somewhere along the line i put down the bong and gave that adulthood thing a shot

now, on the rare instance i have occasion for a lighter, and the lighter happens to be white, i hesitate not

but i always silently smirk at my capricious relationship with its ilk

and wonder if i am once again brazenly inviting disaster into my life

i have noticed though that white and pink lighters are least likely to be stolen from me

so it is not unlikely for me to be seen with either, or both, or neither.

we had the ten-second rule for lighters: if you could pocket someones' lighter for 10 seconds, it was yours to keep. they would try and get it back via the same method. this led to a lot of shenanigans

we didnt care if a lighter was white.

no one ever had a pink lighter except chicks.

we always tried really hard to get this one guy's Zippo.

^^ people would always steal mine so i picked up this little rig at a gas station where you would put a rubber cap on the end of your lighter which was attached to a string that would automatically retract to a belt clip. this was some real batman tech and it worked amazingly well for drunken lighter retention.

the only problem (and the reason for its retirement) was drunk girls grabbing the lighter, using it, then letting go and inadvertently whipping me in the nuts as it was retracting.

that is exactly how I roll... if I am buying a lighter that is. I typically find them or get them from various places though. I also like orange. The thing about "white lighter"- all the lighters that have graphics on them are white, just with a sticker over them. The luck of the smoker nation should have dropped considerably when those came out. I really don't care one way or the other, but have met people who do, and I typically give them one of these

I got this lighter recently called HIDEZ or some gay shit like that where its a removable skin you can slide off and put onto any bic mini lighter. Its basically like a transferable condom for your lighter. I have a cool red one and put it on any white, pink or light blue lighter I come across.
