The old thread was dead.

I would like to use Rosetta Stone to learn spanish, but I can only be reimbursed by my work if I can prove that I completed the program. Are there tests included in Rosetta Stone that I could use to prove I learned the material? Does the program track your progress?

I tried calling their sales staff to ask the question, but the guy was unable to vary from his standard script to answer my question.

The other option is to go to Wake Tech (I've already graduated from State), and I'd prefer to not have to drive down to Wake Tech twice a week.

There aren't tests per se, just milestones at the end of every unit.

It tracks your progress.

Sucks you didn't make this thread a month ago. I let my sister have a whole spanish course that I'd waited too long to return

I looked more into WakeTech and it looks like they have classes at sanderson and milbrook high schools, those would only be 15 minutes away and not nearly as bad as any of the campuses.

I guess I could take a snap shot of the final screen at the end of each lesson.

Has anyone used their online community? Anything on there that I could use to prove I actually learned the material?

American military university lets you use rosetta stone for free to learn spanish. you just have to pay for the course. if you get any vouchers for education, i would recommend that.

do Rosetta stone and/or take FLS 401 (pass/fail) and do the graduate reading exam in Spanish to prove you did shit. you'll also get a neat little certificate

forgot to mention, FLS 401 is online and you can't fail as long as you "try" it's really more of a self-taught course. the reading exam involves translating 2 paragraphs of a scholarly article from Spanish to English and then about 10-12 sentences. you get 3 hours to take it and can use a dictionary. Also, if you don't pass, you only have to repeat the section you messed up (i.e. sentences or paragraphs). He said he's never had to have somebody re-take it more than once.

I'll even sell you my books on the cheap!
