I am about to give my old laptop to my sister and brother-in-law and want to reformat before giving it to them. My laptop didn't come with a disk though so I need to get my hands on one. 12/19/2010 3:25:15 PM |

Well I found two discs. One says HP Upgrade manager with drivers and applications on it. the other says windows 7 ultimate upgrade media. i dont think either of these has the OS on it though so I can't use it to reformat right? 12/19/2010 3:37:44 PM |

only one way to find out throw it in there, boot to it and see what happens.
otherwise i think you need to make sure you get the media for the right version...what version of 7 ultimate do you have on there...also is it 32 or 64?
once you have that all figured out download the applicable iso off of the torrent network. burn that and install it.12/20/2010 12:03:20 PM |

make sure it doesnt have a recovery partition, most win 7 laptops come with that instead of disc media. if it doesnt let me know what build/version you need. i have most of them. 12/20/2010 1:23:06 PM |
