i did it back in 2005? i think.....idk one year i was still in school. Family all went to Ohio on a whim, i couldn't go because i had to work the next week. ended up getting drunk and eating frozen pizzas

Alone is not necessarily bad. I'll be alone only because we do the xmas eve thing, then everyone packs up and heads to their grandmas house (I'm not living with family - I share a house.) I'm left all alone and bask in the silence

done it several times. Spent several Christmases & surrounding holidays deployed as well. Its definitely better being with family.

i've never been alone on a major holiday. as annoyed as i get with so much family around, i think i would be pretty sad.

one year i was alone on my birthday. i wasn't getting together w/ family/friends until the weekend so i was alone on the actual day. i was pretty depressed about it.
