the reason many people think she was just another "one hit wonder" is that she was primarily an R&B singer, and it was only this one song "lovergirl" that made the crossover into mainstream MTV-oriented pop.

she had a pretty strong following and was also known as "Lady T" in the R&B genre. she actually made quite a bit of recordings with popular R&B and hip hop artists over the years. She was a pretty damn good singer and songwriter
