Up by Lake Johnson. Fire just marked under control. Crews remain on scene for smoke removal, check for any fire extension to neighboring apts, etc.

For Beckers, it appears (due to radio traffic) that Raleigh FD will be tearing apart someones kitchen doing salvage/overhaul in the affected apt bldg to make sure no extension has occurred anywhere so it would be a decent assumption to say that the fire started in kitchen area.

Happens every winter. Lots of reasons: Kitchen fires "pot on a stove" type, clothes dryer fires, space heaters, kids deciding to try shoot off Model Rockets indoors, dumbass people like my retarded exwife forget to open the Fireplace flue etc.

But more often than not it is space heaters indoors or kitchen fires.
