there are a TON of products out there that claim to be the best solution for those annoying rock chips on the front bumper and hood. For all of you familiar with paint work, which would you recommend? I'm not interested in going to a body shop, cheap autozone paint, or using some paint pen. There were a couple of products i looked at like Dr Colorchip & Chipex that had you apply the paint and then smear it w/ a glove. You'd then wipe away the excess & polish. looks legit:

I've seen some really shitty jobs before: paint blobs, non-matching marks, even a ridiculous "clear coat" that looked like someone smeared rubber cement over a scratch. i dont mind paying good money for a good product 1/7/2011 11:19:32 AM |

i just ordered and used some dr. colorchip
paint is a perfect color match and blobs are non-existant with this system.
the paint is thin and won't blob, but it won't "fill" the chip to level it out in just one pass. the chips will be color matched and you probably won't be able to see them unless up close, but it will take several layers over the course of a few weeks to likely level them out 1/7/2011 1:33:13 PM |
