I have a friend who shot two guys with a .40 S&W, using hollow points, from a range of a few feet away. He made 6 hits on one and 7 hits on the other. I think maybe one shot hit an arm, but the rest were all torso hits, plus one head shot.

Both of those dudes lived. One of them is all fuckled up and brain damaged; the other shits in a bag...but they did live.

I'm not really anti-gun. I think some of the laws are a little lax and that a small number of the guns that people are able to obtain have no legitimate use at all, but I'd say I'm somewhere between neutral - pro gun.

And like I have said in TSB. When I vote it's usually against Republicans, which to me, is almost as big of a knock against Democrats. I did vote for Pat McCrory for gov in 2008 though. Fuck Bev Perdue.

my best friend got shot in the head, and survived

he was like a totally asshole corporate lawyer, real bastard to everyone even his family. one night he was out to the corner store for a pack of smokes and got shot in the head during a robbery. he wasnt expected to recover, but he went through a lot of intense physical rehabilitation. weird thing was his personality totally changed and he became like this really sweet person and he started painting and spending time with his wife and child, and really started enjoying life. His employer kept him on, but they all made fun of him cause he talked slow and they demoted him to a broom closet office. then he totally told his job to fuck off and found all these secret documents where the law firm had withheld evidence and fucked a bunch of poor people over for corporate profit, and he gave these documents to the people who were screwed and his boss realized he had just gotten fucked by the retard, and the whole law firm went under and everyone hated life. except for my friend who went and bought his daughter a puppy that she always wanted and pulled her out of the private school she totally hated and told all them bitches to go pound sand, and then took his daughter and her new puppy on a picnic.

we all love him now, bless his heart.

I ain't gonna read this dumbass thread, but I saw the dude you're talking about. The back of his head was grazed by a bullet. Didn't go through the skull, never touched the brain, just burned and tore up some scalp on the back of his head. He was up and about two days later on NBC nightly news, and the thing on his head was clearly visible.

In fact, he kept trying to clarify, "Yes I'm a colonel but I never saw combat, I wasn't in Vietnam" and Brian Williams was all, "Dude, you took a bullet to the head and wrestled down the shooter, it's cool."

predicting who will survive a gsw to the head is tricky.

.22 gsw is usually fatal because the bullet bounces around like a pinball and destroys too much tissue. all of that tissue starts to swell leading to brain death. surgery is usually not an option due to bihemispheric damage... the brain isnt salvageable at that point.

but ive seen a dude blow out both frontal lobes and survive.
