So I have all these pattern designs and I want to get them printed onto fabric (not screen printing). Should I invest in a Direct-to-Garment printer? Or is that only for prints and not patterns? I was hoping there was some company that prints fabric for you but I don't know where to find that. I tried searching on Google but to no avail. HALP

Can you do nameplates for jerseys? I think they are vinyl pressed. But not sure.

Can it be made or from somewhere else?

I'm actually decently curious on this as well. I'm Textile Technology but my concentration is technical textiles/nonwovens/nanotechnology etcetera so I dunno.
Kinda annoying that I'm not allowed to take any of the textile design classes, it's what I'm more interested but harder to get a job with.

I don't know anything about jersey nameplates sorry.

How are you not "allowed" to take any textile design classes?

Dirtay should post in here, he seems pretty knowledgable.

And Dirtay, please do!

if you aren't trying to produce on a large scale, maybe using someone elses fabric printing service could be easier. check out http://www.spoonflower.com

I just started a sewing class at Wake Tech so something tells me I'm going to be using this site for some of the class projects.

I was telling billybob that it seems like you guys want screen printing, or more specifically rotary printing. It is the cheapest per yard, and as long as the patterns repeat every 24 inches or so, it can do just about anything you want. Most machines can do 3 or 4 colors, not including the base color of the fabric you are printing on.

I don't really know any places that will talk to you for less than about 5,000 yards, and even the you are looking at about a dollar per yard.

^^ I don't think it's all that expensive considering what you're getting. Hell, some "designer" fabrics around here will easily run you $15-20 a yard for the same sort of fabric. I'd rather pay that much to support a local business

not to mention, you get 15% off on fabric that you design yourself

what kind of sewing class are you taking, wolfpackgrrr? I'm cutting a dress out right now, hahaha

Tumbling Colors, in Raleigh, might be able to do something for you.

Their website is always a mess (they seem to have broken it since the last time I visited), but their email and phone is listed: http://tumblingcolors.com/
