I live in Durham. It's honestly not as bad as everyone says it is. There are parts that are just as bad as the worst neighborhoods in downtown Raleigh...and parts that are just as good as anywhere else really.

The warehouse district is freakin awesome. Lots of good restaurants and chill bars.

One of my biggest fears is that I'll be 40 years old, living at my parents house, and riding around Rocky Mount with a cupholder attached to my bicycle handlebars so I can carry brown bagged 40's as I ride around the city picking up discarded goods all day.

Then I realize that would actually be pretty cool in a terribly wretched sort of way. Like, it'd be better than dying of exposure in a wet gutter of NYC or something.
