I have not ever seen more bandwagon haters than those of the Pittsburgh Steelers. There's no way all these people migrated down here from areas of rivals of western Pennsylvania. The abundance of young bandwagoner haters doesn't make sense since there are lots of fans of other teams to hate, unless kids are getting it from their parents. 1/16/2011 2:29:59 PM

haha and I'm sure there have been no other celebrities that have worn jerseys/apparel of other teams ever...
I'm not a steelers fan (although my fiance is), but I really see no reason for everyone to hate them like I am seeing this year. Yeah, rothlesraper is a tool bag, but there are plenty of tool bags around the league. 1/16/2011 2:41:44 PM

It's like anywhere really, everywhere has it's tool bags. I'm our resident tool bag, for example. Y'all make me this way with your piss poor behavior, but it's still a reality that I act like a tool bag.

steelers fans are like roaches. They are everywhere. and they talk shit like no other fans out there, even though 75% of them never have even stepped foot into the state of Pennsylvania.
Being from Cleveland, and a Browns fan (LOL, I know) I have plenty of reason to hate them. But I think all the haters stem from the fact that there are so many bandwagon Steelers fans out there 1/16/2011 2:45:51 PM

I just hate the bandwagon fans that flock from team to team. I pull against those teams-of-the-moment and hope they lose so that it pisses off those people. Currently the Steelers are one of those teams. 1/16/2011 2:47:20 PM

I ran into some dude who said his wife is an Eagles fan and she literally refuses to even speak to Cowboys fans. She walked out of some guys office when he came in because he had some kind of Cowboys propaganda on. That just seems extreme to me.
How extreme are these Steelers fans?

In that picture you'll notice people that were born and raised in Los Angeles, Louisiana, and Missouri. The only other NFL team that may come close in bandwagon fans is the Cowboys, and those fans are hard to find right now. 1/16/2011 2:48:29 PM

^^I don't see any more fans this year than i normally do... it just seems like there are because the dolphin/browns/panther/texan/charger/etc fans aren't out there spouting out. I haven't run into anyone this year so far that is pulling for the steelers that wasn't a fan before them making it to the playoffs
btw, I fully understand and accept your hatred for the steelers
^I know plenty of fans from teams from other than here... hell, how many raleigh folks that have probably never been west of the mississippi are charger fans (because of ol' p.riv)? It just helps that the steelers are an established franchise, and seen as a "team of the common folk"

well I'll say this, the bar we were at last night was probably 50% steelers fans. It wasnt a Steelers Bar or anything either. They were so obnoxious everyone else in the bar starting hollering anytime the Ravens made a good play, just to shut them up. 1/16/2011 2:52:30 PM

Steelers fans always seem to flock to whatever bar I'm at, and they seem to be extremely loud and have very little understanding of the rules of football. They also seem to think that their team is classy, even though they are one of the dirtiest playing defenses in the NFL and their quarterback is a serial rapist. Maybe I was a little bit more irritated than usual with them yesterday because I'm a Ravens fan. 1/16/2011 2:54:51 PM

^haha but really? not one tv in a bar located in NC? he had like 40 tv's, and we would have dealt with one of the small bar tv's... but I think he was wacked out and pissed off already that day, so we decided to not deal with it

haha I'm a canes fan too, I just forgot about them (and they occasionally win games too, so I didn't want to throw them in the mix with the rest of those bad news bears). And I pulled for the Cardinals when they made it to the WS- I never had a problem with them, and have a lot of friends who are big st louis fans (honestly though, I'm not the biggest baseball fan... I watch more and more every season, but I still am barely above a "casual" fan) 1/16/2011 3:42:31 PM

this is exactly what happened to me, fuck them and fuck their mouth running and their stupid accent
we were listening to the wolfpack basketball game for the first 30 minutes before the football game and this fat redneck fuck was about to have a conniption fit because he wanted to hear the talking heads blabbering about who they thought was gonna win the game

<--- Steelers Fan
Dad is from Pittsburgh (born and raised, as was his father)
I have been to Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh, many times. I wouldn't mind living in Pittsburgh (hate away, but I like it, so say what you want)
I grew up liking the Steelers, and the Penguins, and the Pirates (lol...wouldn't exactly call myself a Pirates fan though...but I do pay attention when they lose to local community colleges, whooo go pirates!). So unfortunately when NC FINALLY got professional sports teams, I didn't just ditch what I grew up liking (although I have pretty much converted to a Hurricanes fan, except when they play the Penguins, then I get kind of stressed out and feel like a slut and/or a kid in a divorce because Hurricanes and Penguins fans seem to ESPECIALLY hate each other). But yea, I am not just going to stop cheering for something because there are bandwagon fans. Every team has them. And every team has horrible fans (UM HELLO, NEW ENGLAND). I get that Steelers fans might be more annoying than SOME fans but I mean, whatevs. Y'all just jealous, yo.
Back in the day people in NC just picked a team to like because we HAD no team. Sure MOST people went with the Redskins, some with ATL, def some Cowboys groupies up in here, but maybe some people were just smart and chose the Steelers.
[Edited on January 16, 2011 at 4:41 PM. Reason : and i have also been to a game at three rivers stadium. RIP. pirates. not steelers tho. ]
oh and i support this thread. there are tons of bandwagon steelers haters. its the cool thing to do now to hate the steelers. much like it was previously the cool thing to do to like the steelers.
i'm getting confused now. so i'm gonna leave

Ill tell you why. Its because the fans can only count rings and can only name 3 players on the team. Also they are fucking loud and annoying. If you love them so much get the fuck back up there in the cold weather and root for them at the game. 1/16/2011 4:44:15 PM

I made the mistake of watching some Steeler's games with her a few times. I don't think I'd ever seen anyone get that pissed off when their team wasn't winning. I think she was on the verge of a stroke when her team didn't have a two touchdown lead. 1/16/2011 4:48:38 PM

I know of some people that dislike the steelers solely because of Ben Roethlisberger. I don't dislike them in anyway, and will cheer for them from time to time (so long as they aren't playing any of my preferred teams).
I always thought the Pats got the most haters. But I hate the Pats myself, so I'm not against the masses channeling their negativity towards them 1/16/2011 5:49:36 PM

^pats get hatred because of the cheating scandal and games that they have won in the first half, and they keep the starters in all game (and blow out a team) like they did when they beat the jets in their second game this year... that will piss a fan base off right there (but they got theirs!)

have you even been there since they remodeled? it's pretty darn nice now (doesn't feel like it used to)
yes, it's still a little over priced, and you don't always get the best service, but it is a good place to watch a game now if you have to. 1/17/2011 11:04:01 AM
