List of menus sorted by price. Some of them don't seem to be that great of a deal.

http://eat2winraleigh.com/raleigh-restaurant-week-menus-2011/

I think Solas and Five Star look like pretty good menus for the price.

Oh sweet. I really enjoyed doing this in August. Maybe we'll do this time too.

Last time we did Buku and Zely and Ritz. I thought Zely and Ritz was overpriced but the food was good. Buku seemed hit or miss with everyone at our table.

Just went to Lucca last night in Charleston:

http://luccacharleston.com/

One of the best meals I've had in Charleston...which is saying a lot. The gf got "Restaurant Week" meal, four courses, a soup, pasta, entree, and desert. But I got an app and an entree. I'm pretty picky with Italian, but everything we had was amazing. If you ever want good Italian when you're down here, definitely check out this place.

The menu at 42nd Street Oyster Bar is kind of ridiculous. I feel like with some of these restaurants they don't really want to do restaurant week so they just half ass the menu they offer.

^I feel like a lot of the extremely high end restaurants do that. I kind of don't blame them...but it's still a little sad.

On the other end of the spectrum, its funny to see lesser places take part in this when you could go in there normally and get anything on the menu for under $20 bucks. There's a place call Trio here in Charlotte thats trying to jazz it up by including a free tea or soda. Make it a highball and we'll talk.

The food and the service. Worst steak I've ever had in a restaurant. I would have been 100% happier at applebees.

Damn yeah that's bad considering that place is $texas and Applebee's is

Empire Eats just mailed out their Restaurant Week menus:

http://empireeats.com/whats_happening

Looks like it's just Sitti and Gravy this time.

I like Buku, and probably eat there every other week, but that said, I haven't had anything that they're serving for this menu. The falafal with the sambal sauce is AMAZING though.

I only go to the places that are normally really expensive. No sense in blowing 30 dollars anywhere else.

Four Square and Mo's Diner do a really good job. It's too bad St. Jacques doesn't participate.

I've wanted to check it out but heard the food isn't too great. we're pretty picky when it comes to Italian food (husband's family is Italian and we're used to great food). The only two Italian restaurants we'll frequent is Casalinga and Casa Carbone.

How is Watts Grocery in Durham? considering going there for lunch tomorrow

sorry!

Now I'm craving it too - might have to go see Carlos tomorrow night!
We went there for the first time on my due date for the eggplant parm after reading online that it could possibly induce labor. no luck (she was a week late) but a good excuse nonetheless. We celebrated my daughters first birthday there and have been dozens of other times over the years

We used to go to Casalinga almost every friday when I was in high school and when I would come home from college. They catered some of our parties before. My parents were always friendly with Carlos and his (ex? I don't think they're together anymore) wife.

I've heard it's good but I've also heard that it's homestyle Italian-American food, not "fancy" Italian food. So I guess it depends what you go in there thinking it's going to be in the first place.

Weird that they changed it from August to January. I know it coincides with all the All Star game...wonder if they'll do another in August or if this is it for the year.

I have nothing to say about Restaurant Week, I just wanted to add:

Casalinga is the shit, I completely agree (and Rob is quite possibly the best waiter ever)

I think they're just doing it more times a year (or just one more time). So there are two "Restaurant Weeks."

ALSO:

Restaurant.com sale on right now. There are some participating Triangle Restaurant Week places. Use the code "meal" for 80% off. I got a $25 Jibarra card and a $25 The Artisan card (both participating in the festival) for $5. Jesus.

There's nothing in the wording of the certificates to suggest they couldn't be used during a time like Restaurant Week, as long as you're spending the minimum amount, but I'm sure that won't stop a restaurant manager from telling you tough luck anyway

the artisan certificate in particular says this:

Quote :
"Valid for Dinner ONLY. Excludes: Other Offers/Promotions. Excludes buffet."

most of them say the same thing...in any case, to answer:

Quote :
"Yeah, I would love to know if restaurants will accept them."

i called and they won't

Yup, was dead tonight, but the food was pretty great and the service was excellent.

Had mixed green salad, duck confit, and the burger.

All were very good. Will go back if their menu changes.

I do wish they had their ruben on their dinner menu, as I would like to try it.
