Angel, angel what have I done? I've faced the quakes, the wind, the fire I've conquered country, crown and throne Why can't I cross this river?
Pay no mind to the battles you've won It'll take a lot more than rage and muscle Open your heart and hands my son Or you'll never make it over the river

Maynard loves the word "son". That's probably because he is an artist son. Real artists use the word "son", son. 1/22/2011 8:13:00 PM |

not a bad song, actually. It sounds like a song prisoners would sing while working on the railroad or something mixed with a hipster rock band. 1/23/2011 1:48:51 AM |

Don't be callin it hipster now son. It's good son. Good and hipster cannot exist simultaneously son. One song of theirs is about soldiers going into a fight, but you have to remember that the obvious meaning is generally not the only meaning. It is mixed with other themes. You can actually hear an "artillery round" coming in at the beginning of this one song called Trekka [Desert Porn Remix]. There are also "jet aircraft" and other sounds. It's pretty intense but you've got to understand it and listen to it with the right kind of ears my son. It is psychedelic music for sure. This song also demonstrates the versatility of Puscifer. It is quite experimental in nature, but extremely good and high quality because of the musicians he has involved in the project. I mean it's fucking art son.

Then there is this one which is a bit heavy son. I think the theme is quite obvious, it's not one that requires too much analysis. It's to the point, but it's still about a very deep human experience that many of us will go through. This was a collaboration between Trent Reznor and Maynard son.

Someone sang your name today and a stranger saw me crumble Hold my broken heart and shell away begging "bury me beside you"
The devil popped around today selling promises and potions that could take our memory away help forget I'd ever met you
Tell me... can you please take away the misery? Give me a baker's dozen please, wrap me up to go away
But I want to I need to forget you Don't want to, but I need to let you go
The devil bent my ear today about his magical elixer That would make the sorrow go away, help me forget I'd ever met you
Give me a baker's dozen please, wrap me up to go away
I want to I need to forget you Don't want to, but I need to let you go
Then there's the totally non-serious "Cuntry Boner", which is fucking great. This is the best version:

At the end there, the ladies in the background do switch between "So long it wont go, so long it wont go down" and "It fuckin' wont go, it fuckin' wont go down".
