Trying to sell my Honda because my 4Runner got totaled last week.

2003 (AP1) Spa Pearl Yellow with 62,312 miles. Runs great, interior in great shape, one small spot on RR quarter panel roughly the size of a half dollar. No tears in top.
Asking 13,500.

I'm assuming that means it's a convertible?

Pictures?

it is ironic, because I totalled my 4runner and had to drive my S2000 for a few weeks until I found a new SUV, but that was about 5 years ago.

Good luck with the sale, S2000's are bad ass, I wish I could justify purchasing another one...

Because I cant use my S2000 as my only car. I need another truck, and I cant afford two car payments.

Yes, they are all convertibles. They are also all 2.0 4 cyl engines and 6-speed manual transmission. Since the car is bad-ass as previously mentioned I forget that not everyone knows these things.

I'm guessing that a 6'4" person would not fit in one of these.

^ I'm 6'2" 220 lbs. and I fit in mine perfectly, I bet you would fit if you aren't obese...

^^ the 2.0 Liter has a 9,000 rpm redline ask any S2000 driver, these were the better cars to own. The larger displacement engine was a 2.2 Liter and has a 8,000 redline and just isn't as much fun. The reason for lowering the redline was too make the car survive stupid drivers missing a gear. Apparently a lot of dumbasses blew engines in these cause they missed a gear and ran the engine to 10,700 rpm, which it couldn't handle. If you want the best S2000 get the 2000 to 2003 model year all the newer ones are for pansies that can't shift gears.

Engine change to 2.2L also added some torque, but shortened the power band. Not worth it in my opinion.

What say you Duke? You got hooked on S2000's after driving mine...

After owning many sports cars (to include 2x S2000s), the best solution I've found is to just keep a beater truck and drive the sports car day to day. Why buy an expensive enough truck that you're making payments on it? Go spend a couple thousand bucks and buy yourself a Cherokee or Trooper or something.

The AP2 engine is 2.2L. The 2.0 in the AP1 has a loyal following, though. Performance between the two cars is pretty much identical. The bigger engine is probably a better choice if you're going to go to forced induction, and it's probably better if you want a marginally less frantic car than an AP1. Personally, if keeping it NA, I prefer AP1s (2000-2003 models). Cheaper, screamer engine, more aggressive suspension setup. AP2s have a slightly updated interior. These are pretty incremental changes all around, though.

Bump for an awesome car.

Thought I'd mention that in 2002, Honda switched from plastic rear windows to glass, and in 2004 changed to the 2.2L... so 2002/2003 is really the best year to get.

few other minor tweaks, too. Yeah, a late AP1 is tough to beat...but you're really splitting hairs between model years, and there isn't even that much difference between an AP1 and an AP2.

yeah, rear glass is nice that plastic window starts to make a ton of noise when you get over 130 mph...

Both of mine had plastic rear windows, so I can't say for sure, but my guess is that the glass window isn't any quieter. Just kind of the nature of the convertible top.

Also, they are REALLY fucking loud at 170 mph.

i have a hard time believing 200hp is enough to move that car even an indicated 170mph

the assumption there is that his car only had 200hp pretty sure it was supercharged, for starters.

the car has 240 HP stock and Duke had a supercharger on one of his, so his was in the 300 HP range, the stock car would go about 155 to 160 without the governor, so 170 MPH is believable with the supercharger installed.

The F22C is superior to the F20C in every way.

Ask me 'an s2000 owner'.

I've seen 145 in my old one with the top down. Wind buffeting was hellacious. It seemed like it might have had a few more MPH in it, but there wasn't a lot left if there was any at all. Fastest trip to Wilmington I've ever done.

torque (which still isnt close to enough)
tranny
front bumper
rear bumper
rear tail lights
exhaust
wheels
wheel size
interior
steering ratio

Its a pretty big list of changes. Every single change for the better. I would buy an AP1 if it were as cheap as the one theduke was selling. Short of that no way in hell. No offense to the OP.

oh wait, no spa yellow AP2s. I'll give the AP1 crowd that one. SPA YELLOW FTW

^^ No, you're right in that it's a significant list of changes...they're all pretty incremental, though.

Also, many people prefer the AP1's suspension, and the 9k rpm is kinda cool even though the two cars are pretty much identical in terms of acceleration #s.

yeah, 240, not 200 (they make about 200 rwhp)...and mine made right around 300 hp to the wheels. It wasn't quite wound out at 170 mph (indicated), but I decided that was enough.

This is the most pathetic attempt to sell a car ever. A bunch of gear heads yammering about the semantics of different model years has no relevance to the specifics of this particular car. How about some pictures for a start? Pics of what this mystical "Spa Pearl Yellow" actually looks like? Pics of this "great shape" interior? Pics of this half dollar "spot"? Pics of the odometer? How about more information on the actual car, ie are you the original owner? Do you have service records? Highway or city miles? Gas mileage? Any upgrades to the engine/exhaust or body? Any damage to the frame, any past accidents, any water damage, etc etc etc.

C'mon man! You're not paying by the letter here, give us a little bit more than some dusty old stories from Fast and the Furious fans reliving their glory days.

Is this car still for sale? Seems this thread went from "For Sale" to a performance discussion.

Please PM me if still interested in selling.

Thank you

this is TDUB here, not Cars.com so STFU and GTFO. The whole point of TWW classifieds is to help you sell your stuff well below market value after receiving everyone's opinion on how stupid it was to buy it in the first place. I'm surprised the bids did not start at three fiddy this time. I'm sure seller will post the details once someone was genuinely interesed in buying this car.

^^There's been 3 people who seem "genuinely interested" in making a reasonable offer. The OP hasn't responded or posted in 4 days and certainly hasn't offerend any more relevant info on the vehicle. Let's just move this shit to chit chat or the garage already, ain't nobody gonna buy this fool's bucket.

This fool never planned on selling the car on TWW anyway. Everyone knows you can sell anything for more on craigslist. I could trade it in for $8,000, which means that there was only one person being close to truely interested.
