Saw this outside my building this morning



Is this common for the industry as a whole, or just State Farm? I'd feel like an asshole if I had to drive around all day with my name plastered on the side of my car if I wasn't selling hot dogs or ice cream.

State Farm agents are definitely all about throwing their own names around. Maybe other companies have the same issue, but I have mostly noticed it with State Farm.

My mom's insurance agent not only has his name on his car, but he has pictures of himself all over it, including a HUGE picture of himself on the hood.

It must be a State Farm thing, because that's who he reps as well.

State Farm has AGENTS. Other insurance companies i've talked to around here are offices that may have 2-5 agents all serving under the same roof. Whenever I deal with state farm it is that agent and maybe one or two helpers in the office, but they can't write claim checks or fully set up policies.

It's also more personable I guess.

Most every insurance company has some form of agents. State Farm, Allstate, Farm Bureau, Geico...etc. Some may work in offices which they solely operate out of (whether it be their home or a brick and mortar location) and some others may operate from under one roof as a group agency. I'd expect the level of personalized service would be directly related to the individual agents, but I can guarantee that no agent writes claims checks. Insurance fraud anyone?

If my company paid for my car insurance and gas, I would have no problem if their name/logos/etc was plastered all over it.

Reminds me of how realtors advertise. I bet they'd plaster their cars too if it wouldn't detract from the Mercedes.
