I signed all the papers and forms at the other job but then they withdrew it a few business hours before I was supposed to officially start. They said it wasn't me, it was them--like a breakup. I was mainly annoyed because the process took three interviews over a three week span. It seemed like they had it more together than that. (I don't think they found anything scandalous online--I gave them links to my web sites up front and I know they checked it out well before hiring me.)

But I got a callback for a second-round interview at a lab this morning!

I don't have anything controversial up which is why I don't think it was me. Also, I know they looked at my social media info after the first (of three) interviews.

If they withdraw the job offer after you sign but before the contract goes into effect (the start date), it's a just revocation since the contract hasn't started.

It's cool! I found a job in a lab in Cary that starts next week. I hope this one actually starts instead of being rescinded even after I signed a contract. I even told them all about my adult toy business in the second of three interviews. To be fair, the interviewer started talking about penises and needing to be comfortable with human sexuality before I did (it was a company that sold a hormone replacement product).
