I will give them props for putting Alissa Czisny in that commercial

she's much more relevant than Eminem, especially after last weekend

^^ She's the best female figure skater in the nation, B.

The National Figure Skating Championships were last weekend, and she won the gold.

maybe if they spent more time making cars that weren't shit they wouldnt need to waste time making bad ads to convince you their cars aren't shit.

have any of you all criticizing detroit even been there? there is a thriving young community that is taking over bad areas and turning things around, its similar to many other cities where artists and gays have taken over and revitalized bad areas.

Just curious, what other cities have been revitalized because of the art and gay culture?

I understand what gentrification is. We've been dealing with it here ever since the revitalization efforts of downtown have begun. I just dont know of any city that has been revitalized because of gays and artists. Not trying to troll, honest question.

there are so many examples i'm not sure where to start, take a look at soho in the 60's and 70's

while googling for the commercial i came across this, which is very interesting. It's a documentary about detroit with johnny knoxville.

I guess if we're talking a small section of an urban area sure. I can't think of too many cities in the US that have suffered the level of urban decay Detroit has and made a comeback. Not saying Detroit won't but they're still a ways off.

^ that wouldn't surprise me in the least. Girl I know was jizzing herself over that commercial and she was born and raised nowhere near Detroit. She thinks because she went there once for a concert that's the same as living there.

I feel like the BMW Spartanburg X3 ad had something to do with Chrysler taking out that ad.

I liked that commercial, simple and to the point.

also, Eminem's two top selling albums in 2010 suggest he's still pretty socially relevant

Probably. Hell next we'll have a Subaru ad in their Indiana plant, and a Toyota and Honda ad in their Kentucky and Tennessee plants.

the BMW ad was interesting because in a time of economic crisis in the US, especially for auto manufacturers, they were looking to expand US production/create auto jobs

the cars are still terrible looking and uninspired, no amount of commercials can take care of that. all of the new chrysler spots show the new cars as little as possible and just focus on how "good" they used to be.

the car actually isn't that bad looking of a automobile...but Chrysler really needs to change their logo IMO..as stupid as this sounds, I see the car & go oh...that looks pretty nice...then see that shitty as Chrysler logo & say, "oh...it's just a Chrysler...count me out.".

The logo screams crap & cheap.

Something to hang your hat on seeing as no team has played more seasons without a Super Bowl appearance than the Lions

I'd really love to live in one of the abandoned factories.

think of all the garage space? LOL

Something like this

Better yet!!!

This stuff is bitchen... it sucks that no one can afford to buy it but they won't sell it any cheaper so it could actually be used rather than just decay.
