I've seem some pathetic efforts at that in threads following articles about the president trying to quit -- a lot of people recommending very specific brands of electronic cigarettes in particular, all claiming not to have any affiliation with the company in question.

Our Corporate CEO smokes. Yet our company actively funds smoking cessation programs, makes their facilities smoke-free (except in special areas), and readily spreads propraganda on the harms of smoking. Does this make the CEO a hypocrit?

I don't think so. He can still smoke but recognize its dangers and have an advisor who actively wants to promote these programs.
