Duke's got a Z06, some guy just bought a Viper. BigT's thinking about an e90 M3 and I want a 911 twin turbo. Some poor kids got e46 M3s recently, I hope they don't park next to me...

So who else is blingin' it up recently? I'm not going to be the only one homeless w/a supercar am I?

by the way. I gave a guy in a convertible M6 a thumbs down the other day without any provocation. I was at a light in Cary and I was riding shotty in a Scion. Yeah it was completely immature but he acted completely butthurt after that and I was greatly entertained.

The general socio economic status of the garage in increasing for sure. It would happen naturally. I mean Specter is shopping 08 STIs and H8R is going to be looking in the same price bracket. Two 335i drivers etc...

Someone has to get a Turbo. Maybe I'll join you. Or maybe you should get a GT3!

Status? I'm pretty sure that option package expires ~3 years after manufacture on any regular 3 series (what little they had to begin with). :/

Nissans don't have status, sorry.

I'm probably going to be buying my cousins 850CSi, so not as much money as some of you all but i think they were pretty cool in their day. Has a Koenig supercharger so it's definitely in the 400+ HP club.

If I decide against the 850 i'm also looking at an '01 740i sport w/ nav that I want for a possible 6-speed conversion

im waiting for 996TTs to come down to low 30s. im just a jew when it comes to cars...i love high mileage cars and inherent lack of worries that comes with not spending too much on the vehicle.

searched everywhere and i dont see any. can you post some in low 30s?
lowest ive seen was $33900 on ebay with 92k miles, which is not really low 30s and miles are high, possibly with some body work done.

im not looking for salvage title either.

Sorry fellas, they're hard to find. I, like Ahmet do not give up my sources easily...especially if I'm potentially shopping for one.

Also, when I say low 30s I mean that the asking is around ~35 and I assume they will come down a couple thousand.

My point is they exist. Just because I can't run off and show everyone 5 listings of what I'm talking about doesn't mean they can't mean found. If you have patience and know where to look the market is right.

Maybe we should start a WT Fab Racing thread to compile our exploits, and hopefully about when may rolls around I might be able to bump the MJ build thread.

35-38 ones are ragged out with aftermarket bumpers, chrome wheels or autotragics. ive searche cars.com, autotrader, ebay, all related online forums, roundel, porsche online publications, dupont registry, nation wide craigslist....etc. i know them all. hell i bought a perfectly running M5 for $8k last year. you still cant find any for that price THIS year.

i was thinking more along the lines them asking for '01-02 996TT, with 40-80k, clean title for $32. this criteria is now $38-50k depending on options/condition/miles.

Exactly!

But after you figure out that buying one is a shit ton easier/cheaper/lot less headache. Then you tend to steer off the market for building things. But that doesn't mean a jigga ain't gonna fabricate something. Lol

^this.

I don't have anything against innovative solutions, but there's something to be said for factory set ups w/super high performance. Also, a 911 turbo w/more than 60k miles is ridiculously hard to sell...

I guess there's a time & place for everything in the gayrage.... but bench-racing stinks. I'll be sure that the die-hard fab guys get repped.

I don't get this bench racing.

Please explain.

How does it pertain us? I don't think anyone in here is really "bench racing" since most of us (Or really a limited few) have actually built a project from ground up. And a lot don't really do it again.

I'm 100% down for buying a project car that needs this or that to make it run. But I'm not dropping 20k into a car that I can get for a fraction of the price.

I would love to do it if money grew on trees. But it doesn't. It doesn't make sense to build a car that takes in 50k or your incOme and hundred of man hours when, like ive said, you can find one for a fraction.

Again, if I could find the parts to build it at a realllllyyyyyy cheappppp price. Then let's roll.

If not, you're a fool for dropping money on something that will gain you nothing. Again.

If I ever do a big build from the ground up again it will be a long time. I'd probably just buy a newer and nicer car and do bolt ons.

We just dont care about the standard argument/discussion of sports cars that carries on without end in the garage. No offense to anyone, but it's like a shitty episode of top gear to me.

most or a few? this is the shit i'm getting at. I dont care if you dont want to do it again, and I dont care if you dont have the money.

hey man, we're all here to go faster, be quicker, and lay down more power - and it's not an investment.

Well shit! Let me blow my money on a car I can't and don't want to afford. Lol

I'm sure the bank would approve.

I have the money. Or I can probably get the money to build the most powerful POS on the east coast. But I, and anyone else, would be stupid to do so. (unless it made me $ in return)
