Haha no idea...considering you can alter fonts and spacing there's no real way to narrow down your cite

Wish I could help, I'm reading all the comments on http://www.teleread.com/ebooks/how-do-you-cite-an-e-books-page-number/. It's a very interesting topic. I guess treat it just like an electronic file and say the date you found it and its location in the book?

Correct reply would be: "Write down its GPS coordinates."

i don't want to have to go get a hard copy. i always can, but i have a bunch of academic sources on my kindle so if i just go get a hard copy this time i'll have the same problem next time i have to submit something.

I was wondering this the other day for the kindle app on an ipad. I bought one of my textbooks for the kindle and I can only cite the line, not an actual page number for an ipad. Everywhere I looked said that is not available for the app yet.

for the stuff i have that has page numbers i will just use those and pretend its a hard copy, but a few of them don't have page numbers associated with the kindle book

I always just use a rough estimate for page numbers. No one is really going to give a shit if its page 350 or 351.

Its approximate, yes, but if I'm throwing together a pitch book at 2 AM and want to "borrow" a couple thoughts, I'm going to cut a few corners. It'll probably catch up to me some day, but so far, so good.
