This is not an homage thread. I would like to know the answer. Fatdaddy's is the best I've had so far.

I would also like to know where to find good okra. Most places I've been to the okra is greasy and not crispy

just get the damn House Autry mix, some frozen okra and do it yourself.

get the mix that's made especially for vegetables and fry 'em for 3 minutes, ftw.

My buddy got Fried okra at The Pit this past weekend and said it was good. Looked a lot like the okra we used to get in the cafeteria at high school though.

^^^ when you do it do you do it in a pan or do you use a deep fryer or a fry daddy or whatevs?

i don't have a fry daddy so i always try to do it in a pan and it never works as well :/

i mean they turn out ok, but not as good as with a deep fryer.

Crowley's okra is ok.

I like to get okra at Fat Daddys and then cover it in that nacho cheese sauce. so good.

^^ i do 'em in a deep fryer, just because it's easier to drop them in and walk away for 3 minutes.

the only place i've had fried okra was at spanky's on franklin street in chapel hill, and it was pretty good considering okra is disgusting.

try the Q-Shack (Northhills?) or Dickey's BBQ in Crossroads

both are formidable choices for quality okra

Dickey's downtown has fantastic okra. And you can't go wrong with the okra at The Pit.
