Port is generally divided into two categories: barrel-aged port (aka tawny port) and bottle-aged port.

I like a good port....just rarely have the occasion to drink it. I'm usually still working on a bottle of wine when it comes time for desert. I also like Madeira.

I've only had port once or twice. There's a bed and breakfast that my husband and I really like that stocks port in the rooms.
