Did any of you get a bunch of shit from career NCOs when you decided to leave Active Duty to go to/back to school?

well kinda, my recruitment/retainment office kept hounding me, but my PSG and squad leader were cool with it, 1SG gave me tons of crap, SGM had no idea who I was, he was new

I didn't tell them I was planning on getting out until the last possible moment, so they didn't really have time to throw too much shit my way. For the most part, everyone was pretty encouraging since I was going back to school.

I don't think I have ever seen anyone give another Marine shit for getting out and going to college.

one of my Sgts is getting out in a couple months...he's going to school for mechanical engineering (starting off doing general ed at Craven Community college...I think there's a good change that he'll end up at NCSU when he moves up to the university level. It'll be funny when he has classes with my old professors.)

It's just frustrating, to be a 'good troop' for your entire enlistment, get awards and what not, and then all the sudden be treated like a piece of shit by someone who you thought you respected and respected you.
