Used to be one back home. They got paid at least minimum wage (in cash). Never saw any need to tip.

New Jersey won't let you pump there own gas, you know to protect the valuable gas pumping jobs that would otherwise be eliminated.

The guys at the Glenwood Village Exxon (Oberlin and Glenwood) will do it for you, but you can also pump your own there.

The Texaco station in Quail Corners (Falls and Millbrook) used to have one pump that was non-self service. I pulled up to the pump and was about to get out of my car and this attendant came up to me and opened my car door for me. It scared the crap out of me.

Not sure if it is still there or not.

Hate having to go to NJ and take 3~4 x as long to get gas cause I gotta wait on the attendant.

Also if you're filling a bike you have to just stand there like a moron while the guy pumps it for you.

First time I ever passed through Jersey I almost got into an argument with what I assumed was a vagrant looking for handouts by pumping my gas for me. Then he told me it was state law, and I realized what a stupid ass state New Jersey is.

I remember driving up to New York with my then boyfriend and for some reason we had to take separate cars. I warned him when we pulled off at a gas station in NJ not to get out and pump his gas but he tried to anyway. I thought the attendant was going to punch him with how mad he was acting
